Personal Statement
I'm a compassionate humanistic counsellor who values person-centred principles of empathy, acceptance, positive-regard, and non-judgement.
I aim to build a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship where opportunities to gain personal/relational insights are enhanced and movements toward desired change can happen.
My core counselling training is rooted within systemic thinking and practice; this means that my work with individuals will consider relational contexts. Furthermore, my counselling practice utilises an integrative approach which allows me to draw upon a wide range of therapeutic ideas and techniques.
Solution Focused Brief Therapy is a client-centred, strengths-based, future-focused approach that takes into consideration our relational worlds. My intention will be to work collaboratively toward client defined preferred futures.
