Personal Statement

I am an integrative counsellor which means I draw on more than one sort of counselling approach to meet the needs of the individual client.

I use a Person Centered approach which means the sessions are largely led by the client. I will offer support, guidance, and structure to enable the client to discover their own personal solutions to their problems.

I offer Psychodynamic counselling, this helps clients to understand long standing conflicts from the past which helps the client become more self-aware. This focuses on the roots of emotional suffering, and the influence of childhood relationships and experiences on later development.

I offer CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy). This focuses on challenging and changing unhelpful thinking, and behaviours, to help with coping strategies that target solving current problems.

I have a warm, friendly, non-judgemental approach. I am empathetic to your needs, a good listener, and have a genuine interest in what you bring to the session. I am passionate about my work, enthusiastic about helping you strive to meet your goals, from achieving the basics to self-actualization (achieving one’s full potential). You can expect total confidentially as I work within the boundaries of professional standards laid out by the National Counselling Society (NCS).
