Special interest areas

I have experience in counselling people of all ages, gender and cultures. I have a special interest in working with people who experience the world through a neurodiverse lens. I have been working with people who are diagnosed with ADHD, Autism and Dyslexic profiles for over 10 years. I also work with those awaiting diagnosis and people who identify as neurodiverse without a diagnosis. I have undertaken multiple trainings in neurodiversity and hold a Masters degree in Psychology, where my thesis had a focus on ADHD and wellbeing. I have knowledge of both the medical (biological) model of neurodiversity, social and developmental theories. My work with people involves a fundamental understanding that every human being is a unique individual, regardless of diagnosis. I help people to navigate their world from an existential standpoint. This means that we can explore meanings and experience from a place that makes sense to my clients. Training in this area includes: Certificate in Understanding Autism, Aspergers and ADHD, University of Derby. Msc Psychology, Thesis title: ‘The impact of a nature based activity on the symptoms of ADHD’, University of Northumbria. Autism: Developing Understanding and Practical Approaches, plus many other self guided readings and research. I am a Neurodiverse Therapist and have a diagnosis of Dyslexia and ADHD with Autistic traits. .

Personal Statement

I always work with understanding, honesty and care. My job is to help you come to terms with the place in which you find yourself, so that you can discover ways to move forward towards a more fulfilling, richer life, which everyone deserves. I will help you discover your values and what is missing from your life, and what might be keeping you stuck. I will be alongside you as you discover your true self and your worth. Along the way I will also help by offering some insights, and I'll hand you some tools to help you uncover where your difficulties lie. I help you find clarity.
