Special interest areas

I have experience working with people who have had a bereavement and those who are living with long-term health conditions such as cancer. I work with people over the age of 18 suffering emotional distress such as anxiety and depression. I also work with couples who are experiencing relationship difficulties.

Personal Statement

I provide a safe, non-judgemental environment where we can explore together the issues or difficulties you may be facing. Reflecting on your life experiences and relationships, allowing space to understand your thoughts, feelings and behaviours.   Together we can explore why things are difficult, sad or painful, so that you can make positive changes in your life, working towards recovery from losses, anxiety or emotional distress, gaining a greater insight and developing personal growth and understanding.

The initial appointment (Assessment) gives you the opportunity to meet me and talk about what has prompted you to seek counselling. We will discuss how we might work together, exploring your hopes and expectations from the counselling process, along with giving you the opportunity to decide if I am the right Counsellor for you. The most important part of the counselling relationship is a feeling of connection, from one human being to another.
