Personal Statement

As a Psychotherapist & Counselling Psychologist I offer and a warm, safe and non-judgemental space where someone can express what is happening in their lives and explore what troubles them. I support people to find their understanding of what is happening to them and find ways to cope through difficult times, often leading to positive changes and finding new qualities and strengths. I work integratively, using the humanistic, Person-Centred values underpinning my counselling practice, placing the person in the centre and making sure I adjust my methods and therapeutic modalities accordingly to the person's needs, beliefs and values. As a therapist I provide a therapeutic space where the client feels fully accepted, which facilitates finding a space within themselves to hear their own voice, leading to personal growth and empowerment. Through the counselling process, the client is on their unique and intimate journey, not only to move on with their lives but also to reconnect with their own values system. I offer a wide range of interventions, flexibility and an integrative style of work combining: EMDR, CBT, CFT, ACT, DBT, Coaching, Hypnosis elements, Couple Counselling, Schema Therapy, Gestalt therapy, play & art therapy. I am also familiar with spiritual therapy like ThetaHealing and mindfulness/meditation. I also work as a visiting lecturer and academic researcher. I enjoy working with students, trainee counsellors, and people with Learning Difficulties, from LGBTQ and neuro-diversity.
