Special interest areas

My practice is focussed on helping those who experience challenging and difficult circumstances that have negatively impacted their way of being. I have years of experience working with Neurodiverse clients, and this is indeed a passion of mine. I work with both adults and children & young people. Working with adults, my area of specialist interest centres around health anxiety, self-empowerment, living with challenge, deeper understanding of self, relationships, and enhancement of communication with not only self but with the world around you. Working with children and young people. I hold a certificate in Working Therapeutically with Children and Young People. This is a real passion of mine. I use play therapy (art, song, reading, exploration using images ....whatever works!) to help children and/or young people to engage in their sessions, creating a safe space in which to explore any issues they wish to bring to therapy. Specialist interests when working with children and young people circle around self-acceptance, self-empowerment, communication skills, anxiety reduction and self-care. .

Personal Statement

As a therapist who is passionate about my work, I offer a direct, team-work approach with my clients. The aim being to work together, developing a trusting therapeutic relationship in which to explore and unpack anything my client wishes to bring to therapy. We will work with a psychoeducational approach, offering tools for my client to use out-with sessions to reduce stress and enhance wellbeing. The sessions are a safe space, appropriately paced in order to help my client heighten self-awareness of deeper emotional and physical responses to difficult past and/or current experiences or situations. With this deeper understanding of self comes development of authenticity, ability to understand emotional responses to create fulfilment, wellbeing and balance towards living your best life.
