Personal Statement

I believe everyone can benefit from therapy at certain points in their lives and that caring for our mental health is as important as caring for our physical health. Counselling is your time and space for us to work together to find insight into your issues and develop strategies to help you cope with the complexities of life.

I use an integrative approach that allows us to work collaboratively to find the unique way for you to figure out what areas of your life need attention in order for you to achieve your goals or improve your wellbeing. I work with a diverse client base and draw from many models of therapy. Neurodiversity-affirming therapy is an approach to treatment and overarching philosophy that impacts how I view my client and their experience in a similar way that trauma-informed therapy recognises the unique impact of trauma on an individual’s experience. Neurodivergence by itself is not a flaw or illness that needs to be “fixed” but I acknowledge that neurodivergence can also be disabling at times.

Each person is the expert on their own experience, and I strive to make a space for the good and the bad that come with it and I work with all clients at their pace and on the issues they feel are relevant.
