Special interest areas

I am a professionally qualified and highly experienced BACP Accredited Counselling Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor working with Adults. I am dedicated to developing an open, honest and trusting relationship with my clients where their wishes, hopes, fears and anxieties are respected. I believe that each person is a unique individual with their own personal life experiences and by working together in a safe, supportive way we can explore options for personal growth and change. I facilitate the exploration of difficult issues from past or present in a non-judgemental, confidential, professional environment. .

Personal Statement

My personal development has led to an integrative approach to therapy so that, depending on the clients concerns and wishes, I am able to draw upon a wide range of philosophies including: Transactional Analysis (TA), which is a model of psychotherapy used for understanding human development and facilitating change to life patterns. Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a comprehensive psychotherapy that helps you process and recover from past traumatic experiences that are affecting your mental health and wellbeing. It involves using side to side eye movements combined with talk therapy in a specific and structured format. EMDR helps you process the negative images, emotions, beliefs and body sensations associated with traumatic memories that seem to be stuck. These can contribute to a range of mental health problems. EMDR helps you to see things from a different perspective and relieves the symptoms that you were suffering. Emotional freedom technique (EFT), also known as tapping or psychological acupressure, is an alternative therapy for anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and some other conditions. According to the developer of EFT, Gary Craig, tapping on different parts of the body helps balance energy and reduce physical and emotional pain. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
