Special interest areas
I work with individual adults of any age, specialising in anxiety, depression and OCD.
My approach is to provide you with the opportunity to explore the emotions you maybe experiencing be that anxiety, depression or feeling overwhelmed. Together we can unpick those emotions and find a path to feeling better and making positive changes.
My initial introduction to psychotherapy was as a Samaritan working both on the telephone and face to face with clients, then working in a prison supporting and training the Listeners (the prisoner Samaritans). I then qualified and since have worked in a GP s surgery, where I was referred clients with a wide range of issues, then a hospice counselling clients who were bereaved and pre-bereaved. I presently support cancer patients based at my local hospital as well as working privately.
I have specialised in a number of areas including bereavement, OCD, CBT and anger management. My personal approach (whatever the issue) is to use a supportive and friendly relationship with a combination of therapeutic approaches tailored to you.
