Personal Statement

I see individual clients and couples for short and medium term counselling. Counselling is all about listening to the client, helping them better understand what they are experiencing, and how to find the solutions they need. During the initial session we will discuss the clients needs and how best to address these. Clients come to counselling for varying reasons - they may need support to develop better coping stategies, or explore new ways of behaving and relating to others, perhaps better ways of communicating. Counselling can also help us to accept the things that can’t be changed, deal with loss and grief, and make peace with the past. It can help us develop the courage and confidence to approach issues differently, break old patterns, and make the necessary changes in our life. Counselling can help us when feeling unfulfilled, lacking in purpose or looking for clearer direction in life.
