Personal Statement
Taking the first step into therapy can feel daunting, so finding the right therapist is important and can make a big difference to the outcome.
Your therapy is about you and no one knows you better than you know yourself. It is not my role to try and tell you what to do but rather help enable you to make those choices and decisions. Your therapy sessions offer time and space for you to offload and be heard, to explore what has brought you into therapy and to help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself and how you wish to move forward.
My integrative approach draws on a wide range of theories and methods to best suit your needs such as Transactional Analysis, Gestalt, CBT and solution focused.
Our first session is an assessment session which enables us to explore expectations and therapy outcome. This helps us both gauge whether I feel I am the right therapist for you and if so, we would then proceed to arrange another session.
