Personal Statement

I have worked as a counsellor and psychotherapist since 2008. Some of the issues which people have brought and which we have worked on together include depression, anxiety, a lack of self-esteem, a loss or lack of a sense of direction, family difficulties both past and present, workplace problems, addictions, bereavement, relationship issues and dilemmas about life-changing decisions.

In my experience, giving someone the space to talk and to reflect on what they find themselves saying can allow them to come to a greater level of understanding about themselves. I trained as a psychodynamic counsellor then a psychoanalytic psychotherapist. This means that I listen carefully to what you are saying, and try to point out where patterns or perspectives that have been formed from past experience might be impacting on the present.
