Special interest areas

I have particular experience with anxiety, depression and stress issues in young people and adults. I specialise in personal growth and understanding, life transitions and relationship issues. I also work with clients who feel they have lost their sense of self.

Personal Statement

I work in an integrative way adapting therapeutic approaches to help clients make sense of how they feel and behave.

The key approaches I use:

Person Centred focusing on the client’s innate ability to make positive changes themselves.

Psychodynamic/Psychoanalytic helps clients explore and understand how the things they are experiencing in the present could be rooted in what they experienced in the past.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy helps clients identify core beliefs they hold about themselves. Challenge negative thinking patterns and develop healthier coping strategies and positive perspectives.

We begin by exploring what is happening in the present with an awareness of how the past may also be playing a role. From there we begin to work on self understanding, developing greater self esteem, confidence and ultimately a stronger sense of self as well as healthier relationships. This will always be done at the client’s own pace.
