Personal Statement

I am an integrated therapist with an interest in the relational aspects of personality development. This means I draw from different classical and contemporary approaches, including psychodynamic, existential, humanistic and CBT, tailored to suit the unique experiences of my client.

I am also interested to look at your experiences of the past, your environment and relationships in it, and how these may be influencing emotions and perceptions in the present.

Above all I listen, combining warmth with challenge in a non-judgemental and confidential space, to facilitate the exploration of feelings and symptoms that may have become hard to bear alone. I strive to build a trusting therapeutic relationship where, through collaboration, a client feels empowered to navigate change, and overcome their difficulties to live more fully.

I am a registered member of the UKCP and BACP, which is the largest professional body for counselling and psychotherapy in the UK and am bound by the ethics and standards of both organisations.
