My name is Dimitrios, and I am a fully qualified Integrative Counsellor and Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) by the University of East London and the Royal Holloway University of London respectively, and a member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP), the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP), and the European Association for Counselling (EAC). I offer individual evidence-based psychotherapy by working primarily using the CBT approach and integrating aspects of others such as the psychodynamic, schema or interpersonal where necessary. This is to ensure that the best possible therapy is delivered, tailored to the individual needs of each client, to maximise the opportunity for an efficient therapy process, which leads to positive and long-lasting outcomes. I have many years of extensive experience in numerous mental health settings working with a wide range of client groups. I have been offering my professional therapy services in highly accredited organisations, charities, and institutions such as the English National Healthcare System (NHS), MIND, Change Grow Live (CGL), and privately as an Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA) Therapist. Moreover, I have been gaining valuable experience in healthcare, medical and psychiatric centres, drug and alcohol services, schools, and military hospitals. Fields of clinical expertise include clinical assessments and treatments for adults who struggle with anxiety disorders, depression, substance abuse as well as relational and familial difficulties. I am highly supervised, work closely with other mental health professionals and follow the national health and care guidelines (NICE). I abide by the policies and ethical standards laid down by the BABCP and BACP, and I keep up to date with developments in CBT and Integrative psychotherapy practice in order to achieve the best possible treatment outcomes with my clients..

Personal Statement

Initially, there are likely to be no ‘magic answers that will solve all of your problems quickly and easily. However, my goal is to encourage you to find the answers, solutions, and methods that are right for you through a collaborative, dynamic and meaningful therapy journey. I am committed to supporting you to connect with your inner resources, develop coping skills and strategies and improve your self-awareness through the understanding of the connection between your thoughts, feelings, behaviours and body symptoms. This process will enable you to overcome your difficulties and become a mindfully strong 'therapist of yourself' even after the treatment is over. I truly believe that mental health plays just the same important role as physical health in helping you lead a fulfilling life. What are you waiting for? Take action, break the silence, and let's talk. Don't let your mind imprison you forever. I recognise that finding a therapist and booking that first appointment can feel overwhelming. However taking that first step could be the beginning of a process that enables you to change, grow, and develop. It is worth it because you are worth it. "Nothing is impossible for those who believe".
