Personal Statement
As a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist, I help you consider how your thoughts, emotions, behaviours and physical sensations may be contributing to your difficulties. We will work to facilitate change in each of these areas. I may use alternative therapeutic approaches if they suit your needs, for instance, focusing on the past and helping you to process difficult events as part of trauma therapy.
I work collaboratively with clients as it is important that you take an active role. I will complete an assessment to help determine if therapy will be helpful and understand the maintaining factors of the problem and establish goals. Together we develop a plan for therapy which may involve between session work to maximise progress. At the end of therapy, I help you look back on the progress you have made, what you have learnt and discuss with you how we can maintain your progress after therapy has ended.
