Special interest areas

I have a many years of experience working with students in higher Education, I have a firm understanding of the pressures they have and the difficulties faced with such a challenging environment. Having worked at a Young Peoples Centre, I have a passion for working with adolescents, who are seeking to bring out the best in themselves, whilst tackling the difficulties that they may be facing. I also have extensive experience of issues such as cultural identity, inter-cultural marriages, forced marriage and inter-generational issues, I am able to provide culturally appropriate counselling for these issues..

Personal Statement

As a therapist I feel that the client should be in control of the sessions, leading with the topics they wish to explore. I work by integrating tools from different approaches, to meet the needs of the client. As we start the counselling process, clients can expect to receive positive regard, whilst also being in a safe environment to be able to accept gentle challenges to help with learning about themselves, and being able to build a strong locus of control.
